“There is no health without mental health.”
Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. According to the WHO, mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community (WHO, 2001). Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. Within the Institute for Mental Health, we promote education and activities aimed at preserving and enhancing mental health as well as the well-being of individuals and the community in which we live. Additionally, we promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles through various educational and practical programs. Achieving the full potential of individuals is the goal we strive for, and we endeavor to reach it through numerous creative means.
